Who is a Reiki Student?

Reiki is a simple technique that anyone can learn. It is not limited to people of a certain age group, occupation or goals! Below is information from various students I have compiled to give you an idea of who decides to become a Reiki practitioner.

Age: All ages - my students have ranged from 20 to 70.

Occupation: All occupations - I've had students who are hospice caregivers, physical therapists, college students, retirees, mental health provider, a high priestess, registered nurse, hospital transporter, and more!

Why do you want to be attuned?: I've received a variety of answers from students. Some answers have included because a loved one did energy work, to focus on spiritual objectives, to heal self and others, add Reiki to psychic/intuitive readings, for improved focus and balance, to start a business, and for meditation/stress relief.

How do you plan on using Reiki?: Another variety of answers, including using Reiki as a complimentary therapy with physical therapy, for self and family, to refine personal energy flow, and helping hospice patients.

Religious preference?: Since Reiki is not a religion, people from all paths find it helps them connect with their own spirit. My students have had no religious preference, been agnostic, Baptist, Wiccan, "spirituality with a dash of Christianity", nondenominational, and Unitarian Universalist.

Prior Reiki Experience or Other Healing Modalities You Know?: Almost every student has had no prior Reiki experience, though a few have received Reiki treatments before. Other healing modalities have included Western medicine's use of vitamins, yoga for stress relief, potions, herbs, and general energy work. Most students come with no formal training in other ways to heal.
